Letters

about

One of the first songs Gabe Stroup wrote on guitar in addition to vocals. This song was made in a cold garage with lots of whiskey in the winter of 2007.

lyrics

It's been a while since we've had our last fight
For the millionth time
And the love that once burned bright
Went out like a candle
I remember the pain in your eyes
And the words I chose to hide
When did my heart get so fragile

So I wrote you this letter
Not knowing if you'd understand
Because everything is broken again
And you know how I am

Another day waking up
With you on my mind
And I've tried so hard to break myself of this
The road that I'm on gets so lonely
And I need you tonight
But I won't be giving in

So I wrote you this letter
Not knowing if you'd understand
Because everything is broken again
And you know how I am
And I'd still be with you
I still dream of you
I still need you, yeah

Just when I think that I'm over you
I find an old photograph
It reminds me what was thrown away completely
I awake to the feeling
That you're still lying next to me but you're gone

And as we were one
So shall we stay divided

So I wrote you this letter
Knowing that it's one I won't send
Because everything is faded again
And I know how I am
